I moved to Sioux Lookout for work in 2016, originally from Alberta. There I met my husband Jesse, who has been running dogs for many years. Our life is all about raising two fantastic kids and our beautiful crew of Alaskan huskies. We've been building our kennel and now have two main teams that we are gearing up for mid to long distance racing. I really love putzing around doing the day to day chores we all know so well, and feel pretty lucky to have landed into this dog life!

Typical musher type eclectic character with 2.4 kids and 32 dogs, we run a quasi successful tour biz here in revelstoke where I’m supported by my wife, lovely children and a great supporting cast of guides, I work my ass off in forestry in the summer to allow me the privilege of running dogs full time for 7 months a year

A Newfie turned west coast musher. The lucky mama of two pretty amazing little boys. A nurse, farmer and breast cancer survivor. My husband and I run a little hobby farm just north of Prince George. We have a smallish kennel of mostly retired siberians and a fresh new team of alaskans. We love the dogs, the lifestyle and being busy 😆.

I'm from France, so I love cheese and wine. Few years ago I decided to cross Canada by walking, canoeing, biking, skiing and during that journey I meet Anna and her dogs at YesIcan kennel. Since then I am running sled dogs and life is good.

I've been mushing for a couple of years and the connection with the dogs, and the fact that you have to deal with humans only minimally was what got me hooked. I cannot imagine anything better in life than being out on the trail hearing the dogs breathe while enjoying the sounds and smells nature offers. Great to have a wonderful kennel partner to train and share chores with.

I first stepped on the runners in 1993 in the NW Territories, and have gone on to make a career of it with a busy tour operation in Lake Louise Alberta. I absolutely love dogs and running them and I've raced the trails of "the Fort" many times ... It's great to be back! . I'm disappointing many tourists this weekend by hanging up a shingle " Gone Racing" ...and I'm here with 4 of my tour trail comrades to have some fun and make some memories. Thanks to all the hard working volunteers that make this race keep happening when so many others have folded!

Jes and her partner Matt started out with a couple of skijoring dogs in Alaska that eventually grew to a small 5-dog rec team as they wanted to adventure farther and longer into the wilderness. In 2020, they moved down to Northern California, had a litter of puppies and Jes started racing the growing team in 100-milers in 2023, completing the Triple Crown circuit, Canadian Challenge and the Underdog 100. With the cancellation of the Triple Crown this year due to low snow, she is very excited to get the opportunity to race in northern BC and experience the Caledonia Classic!
